Project Overview

Headless Technologies Limited implemented an IoT-enabled groundwater monitoring system with telemetry support to enable real-time, remote observation of groundwater levels. The project covered 50 monitoring wells across Rajshahi, Naogaon, and Chapainawabganj districts, supporting data-driven water resource planning and decision-making.

Problem Statement

Traditional groundwater monitoring relied heavily on manual data collection, which was time-consuming, prone to error, and lacked temporal continuity. WARPO required a scalable, automated, and reliable system to continuously track groundwater levels across multiple locations and visualize trends centrally.

Solution

We designed and deployed custom IoT groundwater level monitoring devices equipped with water level sensors and mobile SIM-based telemetry. Each device automatically measures groundwater levels and transmits data to a central server over cellular internet connectivity.

Key solution components included:

  • Sensor-integrated field devices installed at 50 wells

  • Mobile SIM (GSM/GPRS) based data transmission

  • Centralized backend for data ingestion and storage

  • Web-based dashboard for real-time and historical monitoring

Dashboard & Monitoring

A central monitoring dashboard was developed to allow WARPO officials to remotely:

  • Track real-time groundwater levels

  • Monitor trends across districts and wells

  • Compare spatial and temporal variations

  • Access data without physical site visits

The dashboard supports monitoring of all 50 wells from a single interface, improving operational visibility and efficiency.
